Steven Ray Lucas, 70, of Canton, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ray and Joanne (Thompson) Lucas. Steve was a 1972 graduate of Worthington High School and furthered his education at Franklin University in Columbus where he received his associate and a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1976. He also received a Masters of Business Administration from Capital University in 1981. While in Columbus, Steve managed Creative Paints for several years. After moving to Canton in 1981 Steve was self- employed, running a small business called the House Doctor. Flying was the love of Steve's life. He obtained his private pilot's license at Martin Field in Canton, Ohio in 1989 and owned both a Cessna 150 aircraft and Piper 180 Cherokee. Although he was not a boy scout growing up, Steve became a leader as an adult. He also enjoyed rock climbing, scuba diving, hiking and camping for many years, including several camping and canoe trips to Algonquin Provincial Parc in Ontario, Canada. Steve also loved to travel, enjoying many trips to France and all over the United States. He also enjoyed photography and won some awards for photos of hibiscus. Steve was also active in his church as an ordained elder and member of several church committees. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cyndy, his sister Robin, of Easley, South Carolina, nieces Jen and Kristin, great niece Jessa and great nephew Ethan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Mike and Jeff, and several aunts and uncles.
