Karan de Hilster Goudy, beloved wife, mother, nurse, and friend, passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 65. She was the loving wife of George Goudy for 16 years; a beloved seester to Laurie de Hilster Shepard and her husband Dave Shepard; a devoted mother to her three beloved children; Benjamin Taylor and his wife Scarlett Taylor, Nicole Spencer, and Samantha Snider and her husband Christopher Snider; the cooky fun aunt of Mandi Harper and her husband James Harper, and Mike Shepard; and adored by her grandchildren: Azalea and Ryun Taylor, Jason Spencer, Jordyn Taylor, Taylor Spencer, Amelia and Emmett Harper, Eva Snider, and Coraline Harper. Karan worked with the elderly since she was sixteen and as a geriatric and psychiatric nurse professionally for 23 years, caring for others with compassion, strength, and dedication. Nursing was more than a profession to her; it reflected her generous heart and her commitment to helping people through some of life’s hardest moments. She was an avid photographer with a gift for noticing beauty in everyday moments. She loved the beach, adored her pets, and cherished time with her family. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, her strength, her dancing in the car, and the love she gave so freely to her family and those in her care. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
