It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chuck "Dog" Hetrick, aged 65, on January 12, 2022. Chuck was born on July 26, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, where he lived his entire life. Chuck graduated from Thomas Worthington High School in 1974 and worked as a mechanic for many years. Chuck was a long-time die-hard motocross enthusiast, participating and excelling in many amateur and pro-am events and winning many "dust collectors" (his words) along the way. Chuck was a simple man but at the same time complicated – loveable but aggravating, endearing but infuriating, amusing but annoying, kind but hard-headed, the list goes on and on. Chuck dearly loved his family, had a soft spot for children and animals, and never met a stranger, leaving behind many friends. Our world is a much less interesting and entertaining place without him. We will miss his rambling and mostly nonsensical 3 a.m. text messages (the speech-to-text function was not Chuck-friendly) and his random butt-dials. But most of all, we will miss his big heart and his inherent goodness. Preceded in death by his father Larry Hetrick, Chuck is survived by his children Billy Miller, Tatum Hetrick and Charlie Hetrick; grandchildren Peter Thompkins, Noah Gilbert, Tasia Hetrick, Donovan Miller, Micah Hetrick and Vivian Hetrick; mother Shirley Allinder and stepmother Anita Hetrick; sisters Geneva Settle (Dean Wilson), Ruby Hetrick (Larry Butler) and Cindy Ross; brothers Steven Wallace, Jeff (Andrea) Hetrick and Michael Wallace; and the mothers of his children, Dorothy Mohle and Kelly Hetrick.
