Cheryl Jane Garrett, age 69, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on December 19, 2021 at The OSU Ross Heart Hospital. As the youngest daughter, she was preceded in death by her Brother Ron Coleman and Sister Barbara Wirmel, and Parents, Kenneth and Martha Coleman. Cheryl is survived by her husband Ron of 48 years, her 4 children, Angela Snyder (Scott), Jeffrey Garrett (Kim), Jacob Garrett (Megan) and Stephanie Blazer (Daniel) and a tribe of "grands" as she affectionately referred to them, Clara (T.J.) Reagan (Arion), Julia, Reese, Penny, Lincoln, Brooks, Scarlett, Oscar and Aella. Cheryl was a graduate of Thomas Worthington High School and was licensed in a variety of professions. Cheryl was a "Dreamer and a Do-er" and as an entrepreneur, she started many businesses throughout her life, some of which were the Strawberry Patch Bakery & Catering, Needlemeisters Sewing Classes and Capers/In the Kitchen with Bubby. Her most successful endeavor is Home Source Interiors where Cheryl and Ron started the first Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery in Central Ohio. Since her retirement, her children are proud to operate the business, carrying out her legacy. Cheryl would do anything for her family and raised strong willed and independent children, in her image. Cheryl was a devoted wife to Ron, sustaining their marriage through the best of days creating a family, dreaming of projects and vacations, and attending kids' and grandkids' activities, sporting events and awards ceremonies together. She also was the cog in the family, pushing to get through the worst of days, managing a family of 6 on a tight budget, caring for ill family and friends, and always had a "we can do this" spirit. Cheryl's friends knew her as "a hoot" and "a character" and knew if they wanted an honest opinion, she'd be the one to give it to them. Never afraid to speak her mind, or do the unorthodox, Cheryl was one of a kind. Cheryl was a child of God and she and Ron have been involved in several congregations over the years. She traveled and provided humanitarian relief in war torn Bosnia through the Presbyterian Peacekeeping Committee, to rural villages in Honduras through mission trips and organized relief supplies to be sent to Florida for hurricane Andrew victims. Cheryl demonstrated her devotion to serving God through community outreach, benefiting underprivileged children and families at every opportunity.
