Ruth Edna Summerlin N. CHARLESTON - Ruth Edna Summerlin, 54, died June 29th 2016 after a 1 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. Ruth was born October 25, 1961 in Washington DC. She graduated from Worthington High School, Worthington Ohio. Ruth served in the United States Navy for 6 years as a dispersing clerk. She moved to Charleston, SC and worked for International Forwarders for 25 years with a short stay in Houston, TX. Ruth enjoyed exercising, bicycling and animals. She was a member of St Mark United Methodist Church. Ruth is survived by her mother, Edith Summerlin (TX), sister, Robin Crumley (TN), brother, Dennis Summerlin (TX), brother, Robert Summerlin (TX) and niece Kathryn (Caleb) Friddell (TN).
