Boyd P. Niederlander, age 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, surrounded by his 3 loving daughters. Born on June 14, 1935, in Wichita, Kansas, Boyd was the son of Karl and Pauline Niederlander. On December 28, 1958, Boyd married the love of his life, Shirley Fenton. They had unwavering devotion to one another, and built a comfortable, loving life for themselves and their daughters. Shirley preceded him in death, but his love for her never died. Boyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His family and friends will remember him for his friendly nature mixed with his teasing sense of humor. He brought joy to everyone who knew him. Boyd was an avid antique automobile enthusiast. He founded and served as president of the local C.A.R.S. Club. He was a long time member of the Cadillac-LaSalle Club, where he served for many years on its Board of Directors. Through his love of classic automobiles, he built meaningful friendships and created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. After graduating from Worthington High School in 1953, he served his country in the United States Air Force for 2 years. After he left the Air Force he worked at the Savings and Loan before pursuing his business ambitions. Over the years he became a very successful businessman. In 1966 he co-founded Mus-I-Col Recording Studio in Columbus, which is Ohio's longest-operating recording studio and vinyl pressing plant. He was a dedicated and hardworking man all could be proud of. Boyd was survived by his daughters, Karen Niederlander, Sharon (Brian) Makuch, and Kristy (Martin) Cogswell; his grandchildren, Mark Schleppi, Shawn (Sarah) Schleppi, Ella Makuch, Madeline Makuch, and Max Makuch; and his great-grandchildren, Juliet Schleppi and Christian Schleppi. His guidance, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who continue to love him, even in his absence. His presence in our lives, while being missed, will forever be fondly remembered and cherished. We all thank him for the laughs and knowledge he has left with us. The family gratefully acknowledges the exceptional care and support provided by Capital City Hospice.
