HERBST Patricia Lindley Herbst, age 51, born January 28, 1957, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 following a lengthy battle with Lymphoma and Diabetes. Preceded in death by her father Edgar L. Lindley. Survived by her husband George Edmund Herbst of Westerville; step-daughter, Kelly Costlow and step-granddaughter, Katie Costlow of Pickerington, and step-daughter, Stephanie Rodriquez and step-granddaughter Isabelle Herbst of Canal Winchester; mother Jean K. Lindley of Worthington; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Art Waters of Westerville; nephew, Mark Waters (Liz) and great-nephew, Grant Waters of Maineville; niece, Julie Brown (Matt) of Gahanna; nephew, Scott Waters of Dublin and cousin Chris Echols of San Antonio, TX. Patty loved life, traveling, skiing, camping, hiking, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with her family and friends. Graduated from Worthington High School in 1975. Attended Miami University for two years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in 1979. Employed by Bank One from 1980-1999 as Human Resources Recruitment Manager. Patty served as President of Jobs for Ohio Graduates and traveled to Washington D.C. to receive the National Workforce Development Leadership Award. She was a member of the committee to organize First Night Columbus in its beginning years. Before her illness she also was very active in her Church and many volunteer activities throughout Columbus including mentoring and tutoring in Columbus Public Schools and helping with the pilot dog program.
