MELONE--Cheri H. Cheri H. Melone, age 75, of Bradenton, passed away on October 19, 2022. She was born in Virginia to Doris and Harold Hill. While Cheri thoroughly enjoyed residing in Florida for the past two decades, it was during her time as a New Yorker and as a Stewardess with TWA that she met and married the love of her life, Dr. Charles P. Melone, Jr., MD. She then transitioned into the roles which made her most proud: devoted mother, wife and community volunteer. Always eager to be involved, she was elected PTA president when her three children attended school in Greenwich Village. When her kids began playing sports, Cheri could be found on the sidelines at every game. She was her family's shining cheerleader and number one fan. Cheri was an avid Ohio State football devotee, Georgetown basketball maven, animal lover, cinefile, bookworm and devout Christian. Her generous spirit and commitment to her community and God followed her to Florida where she was not only the belle of her church's Handbell Choir but also an usher to assist patrons at the Van Wezel. She loved Broadway musicals and held an unofficial record for attendance at both Mama Mia and Jersey Boys. Cheri is survived by her loving children (or, as she would call them, her greatest blessings); Christin, Courtney and Charles Paul, her siblings; Judi and Chuck, and her beloved mother; Doris. The family requests only prayers and love.
