David Frederick Beck, 78, of Grandview Heights, passed away on January 3, 2023. He was born on June 10, 1945, in Columbus Ohio, to the late Robert and Evelyn (Beery) Beck. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Beck; sister, Martha Ellen Howe; and his niece, Julie Mitchell. David graduated from Worthington High School and attended Capital University where he received his law degree. The majority of David’s career was working for the City of Columbus Attorney’s Office where he worked until retirement. Following retirement from the City of Columbus, David worked for the Grandview Heights Mayors Court where he worked up until his passing. In his free time, David had many passions. Above all he loved to spend time with his family. In addition to his family, he was an active member at Berlin Church where he was an Elder. David, enjoyed to teach especially leading bible study and teaching about the bible. Outside of family and church, David had many other passions. He enjoyed to watch Ohio State, the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and he enjoyed to watch Golf. Among other things that David enjoyed were baking Pumpkin Pies for people, watching birds and nature, spending time at Allen F. Beck State Nature Preserve at Clear Creek Metro Park which was named after his grandfather, visiting with Robb and Donna on their camping trips, and telling a good “joke” every now and then. David is survived by his son, Robb (Donna) Beck; grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Beck; sister, Sandra Curran; nieces, Jill (Mike) Cooper, Libby Howe, and Katy (Blake) Crabtree.
