: Benjamin "Ben" Jacob Hess, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of 23. He was born May 6, 1999, in Sioux City, Iowa. Benjamin is survived by loving parents; Rodney and Melissa Hess, sisters; Emily and Felicity Hess, paternal grandparents; Aubrey and Pauline Hess; and maternal grandparents; Phillip and Emma Kline. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with other dear family and friends. Ben graduated from Worthington Kilbourne High School in 2018. While in high school, he played trombone in the band, enjoyed his history and Latin classes, and worked at the Kroger store on Sawmill road. After graduation he worked as a supervisor at UPS. Ben will be remembered for his love of reading, especially Greek and Roman history and Magna; playing video games; and watching anime movies. He was also known as the "dog whisperer" of the family and was close with the fur babies, Taz and Coco. His closest dog buddy, Baskin, preceded him in death in the summer of 2020.
